Concrete tables and how to make your own, DIY

We need a new table in the living room and I fell in love with concrete. They are amazing and I'm thinking about making one on my own, but there are two problems to solve for me before I can have my own concrete table: What to do with the sharp edges (kids unfriendly) and how to solve the weight problem, because I need a table which I can easily move. Any suggestions?
